Floor Plan Design Basics

This article will take you to quickly get started: from creating a new project, drawing a room to adding door and window structures, helping you easily build a floor plan frame. You will learn two methods to quickly generate rooms, master space naming techniques, and learn how to make the floor plan closer to the real floor plan by adding elements such as columns, doors and windows, etc.

For Users

Entrance

Enter the workspace and select the new 3D project in the upper right corner.

Entrance One: Click upload floor plan and select the required drawings to import, you can choose to import a single or multiple CAD files, or select a CAD file containing multiple drawings. Uploading floor plan supports importing CAD floor plan files and images in pdf/ png/ jpg format. The specific operation can be seen in the tutorial document: Click to view one、Click to view two

Entrance Two: You can select the idea template or floor plan template, and click Apply.

Entrance Three: Select draw from scratch, enter the 3D design and choose the Floor Plan, draw walls manually.

Draw Rooms

Method One: Use Floor Plan Templates to Generate

After the floor plan template is applied, the tool interface will generate the corresponding floor plan.

Method Two: Use Wall Tools to Draw

Enter the 3D design, select the Floor Plan-Wall, and use the rect wall to quickly draw closed rooms. The wall drawing must be closed to generate rooms.

Name the Room

Specific operations related to naming rooms can be found in the tutorial documents: Click to view

1. Switch to 2D mode.

2. Select the room.

3. In the basic parameters of the right panel, set the room type and room name.

Add Doors & Windows

Select a door/window, there are four types: door, window, bay window, opening, you can choose as needed.

Add Columns、Beams and Flues

Select a structure, there are columns, beams, flues, partition wall and other structures to choose from.
