How to Remove a Cartridge from Your Kitchen Faucet: A Step-by-Step Guide to Replace Faucet Cartridges

Replacing a cartridge in your kitchen faucet can enhance performance and prevent leaks. Follow these steps to remove the cartridge safely and effectively. Always ensure the water supply is turned off before starting your project.

1. Gather Necessary Tools:

Before you begin, gather the tools you may need: a flathead screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, pliers, and a towel to catch any water.

2. Turn Off Water Supply:

Locate the shut-off valves under the sink. Turn them clockwise to stop the water flow. Open the faucet to drain any remaining water.

3. Remove Faucet Handle:

Depending on your faucet model, you may need to pry off a decorative cap to access the screw. Use a flathead screwdriver gently to pop off the cap if present. Then, use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw securing the handle.

4. Take Off the Retaining Nut:
