This tutorial will explan the constraint animation function to you in detail.
All Photo Studio Users (those already proficient in using photo studio keyframe animation and related basic functionality will see better effects with this function)
What is [Constraint] ?
It is establishing a connection between different model objects. (For convenience of reading: below, we refer to the target object as A and the constraint object as B)
Once a constraint relationship is established between objects A and B, B can be driven to perform corresponding movements through A's motion, without the need to animate B.
What can [Constraint] do for us?
Mastering the constraint function allows you to achieve the following in animation production:
Reduce repetitive operations and keyframe settings
Make animations smoother and more layered
In Kujiale photo studio, three types of [Constraint] functions have been introduced. Details are as follows:
(1) Parent-Child Constraint
Definition: It is as if there is a line between A and B; B (child) rotates, scales, and moves based on A (parent)'s axis
Application Scenario: Office chair animation video (the wheels only have rotation animation frames; set the body as the parent object so that the wheels move along with the body while rotating themselves)
Setting Entry: The "Hierarchy" operation panel on the left side of the 3D photo studio design interface - drag B to be under A's hierarchy
(2) Follow Constraint
Definition: B imitates A's behavior and actions
Application Scenario: Other wheels (B) of the office chair follow the wheel (A) that has been animated
Setting Entry: Select constraint object B - right-side operation panel - model - Add Constraint - Follow Constraint - set target A - set scope
(3) Constraint Oriented
Definition: Regardless of the motion of A/B, B always faces A. B will rotate due to A's motion but will not translate due to A's motion
Application Scenario: Camera lens always facing the product direction; camera always facing the object
Setting Entry: Select the constrained object B - right-side operation panel - model - add constraint - Constraint Oriented- set target A - set axis
For easier understanding: In the image below, the red object is the target object A, and the blue object is the constraint object B
Under different constraint relationships, the blue object will perform corresponding movements due to the movement of the red object:
Displacement
In the image below, the red object is the target object, and the blue object is the constrained object:
