Used to add special adaptation rules that are not preset in the system for specific components, primarily applied to corner panels and corner-cut panels.

For Users

Enterprise users with relevant permissions

Entrance

On the workspace page, click Enterprise Catalog—Custom Products—Product Catalog—Kitchen & Bath/Custom Furniture—Advanced—Parts Adaptation Rules.

**Module:** Product catalog > Customize advanced configurations > Modeling

**Target Object:** "Parts Adaptation Rules" card/panel

**Action/Purpose:** Used to configure the custom adaptation behavior of the component.

Introduction to Parts Adaptation Rules

1. On the parts adaptation rules page, click Create A New Adaptation Rule.

**Module:** Product catalog > Parts Adaptation Rules

**Target Object:** "Create a new adaptation rule" button

**Action/Purpose:** Used to initiate the creation of a new parts adaptation rule within the merchandise library.

2. On the pop-up panel, you can enter a Rule Name (example: corner cabinet shelf). If you created a subfolder on the component adaptation rules page, you can select the corresponding Folder here.

**Module:** Parts Adaptation Rules > "Create a new adaptation rule" dialog

**Targeted Object:** "Rule Information" section (specifically the "Rule Name" input field and "folder" dropdown menu)

**Purpose:** Used to define the basic identity and organizational location of a new adaptation rule before configuring its technical alignment and conditions.

3. Select an alignment reference: Internal Zone or Center Point or Left Bottom as the reference.

When alignment reference is Internal Zone:

Aligning based on Internal Zone means the adaptation process adjusts according to the inner space of the identified target area. When selecting a single direction, the offset and main parameter input boxes are activated.
You can configure Whether to follow the adaptation target to delete. When set to Be, a component using this rule will also be deleted when the adaptation target is deleted. When set to Not, the component will remain and re-adapt when the target is deleted.
You can also define the Failure Conditions under which the rule fails. Similar to hidden conditions for parameters in editors. When not configured, the default is no failure (false). Certain conditions satisfying true will cause failure in adaptation within the tools.

When alignment reference is Center Point or Left Bottom:

Aligning based on Center Point means the process first identifies the cabinet based on inner space and then aligns it using the relation between the component and cabinet center point coordinates (X, Y, Z).
Aligning based on Left Bottom means the process first identifies the cabinet based on inner space and aligns it using the relation between the component and cabinet left-rear-bottom coordinates (X, Y, Z).
When the alignment reference is the Center Point/ Left Bottom, specific panel coordinate values (x, y, z) can be entered in the front-back, left-right, and vertical directions to determine the precise positioning when the component is adapted to the internal air, and the specific main parameter expression (or value) can be input to determine the specific dimensions.

4. Add advanced parameter associations. Users can define adaptation requirements for parameters besides #W, #D, #H.

**Module:** Parts Adaptation Rules > "Create a new adaptation rule" dialog

**Annotated Objects:**
1. **'Add Parameters' button:** Used to add new cabinet parameters for configuration.
2. **Parameter input area (Reference name and Expression fields):** Used to define the specific reference name and the corresponding mathematical expression for the cabinet parameter transmission.

5. To enable parameter association for configured components dragged into cabinets, click Add a Pass-Through Rule and establish transmission relationships between the component and other components.

**Target Object:** "Add a pass-through rule" button

**Function:** Used to configure the pass-through relationship between component parameters and other component parameters within the adaptation rule settings.

L-Shaped Shelf (Corner Shelf) Adaptation Rules

1. On the component adaptation rule configuration page, click Create A New Adaptation Rule, enter the Rule Name, and select Alignment as Internal Zone (corner shelves typically align to internal zone). Finally, select Front and Rear and Left and Right.

2. Associate advanced parameters between the shelf and cabinet per specific craftsmanship.

Ensure the equation left side specifies component parameters, while the right side specifies cabinet parameters prefixed with a # symbol.
Corner shelf dimensions must adapt correctly when attached to the cabinet (i.e., when modeling the shelf inside the cabinet, its corner dimensions should correspond to the cabinet's corner dimensions). For instance, W1 = #W1 - 18; the "18" here represents the distance from the back panel's front face to the furthest edge of the cabinet (back panel thickness + forward offset of the back panel), which varies by craftsmanship.

**Module:** Parameters > Custom Variables

**Target Object:** "Custom Variables" configuration area (including Name, Reference name, and Value input fields).

**Function:** Used to define and modify user-specified parametric variables (e.g., "Left Width" and "Right Depth") to control the dimensions of the 3D model.

3. Locate the L-shaped shelf, enter the product details page, click Configuration—Edit Attributes, select the desired Adapting Rules, and then click Submit.

4. Access the closet customization design tool line, drag out L-shaped Left Corner Cabinet, click Enterprise Catalog—Parts, and then drag the configured L-shaped shelves into the corner cabinet. It will adapt to the corner cabinet's dimensions automatically.

Corner-cut Laminates Adaptation Rules

1. On the component adaptation rule configuration page, click Create A New Adaptation Rule, enter the Rule Name, and select Alignment as Left Bottom (trapezoidal shelves align with cabinet body center points or left-rear-bottom coordinates per individual model and design reference point consistency).

2.Front and Back position: Y = -distance from the back panel's front face to the furthest edge of the cabinet (back panel thickness + forward offset), D = #D - (back panel thickness + forward offset); and Left and Right position: X = left panel thickness, W = #W - left panel thickness - right panel thickness.

3. Configure advanced parameter associations between the shelf and the cabinet per specific craftsmanship.

Ensure the equation left side specifies component parameters, while the right side specifies cabinet parameters prefixed with a # symbol.
Trapezoidal shelf dimensions must adapt properly inside the cabinet, including cut-out dimensions associated with the cabinet's cut-out parameters. For example, D1 = #D1 - 29 + 18; here, "29" represents the back panel's front face to the furthest edge of the cabinet (back panel thickness + forward offset), which varies by craftsmanship.

**Module:** Parameters > Cut Variables

**Target Object:** "Cut Variables" parameter group (highlighted by red box), specifically the "Left Cut Width" and "Left Cut Depth" input fields.

**Function:** Used to define and adjust the specific dimensions for the corner cut-out of the part.

5. Locate the Cut the Corner Laminate, enter the product details page, click Configuration—Edit Attributes, select the desired Adapting Rules, and click Submit.

**Module:** Product Catalog > Model Configuration

**Target Objects:**
1. **'Configuration' dropdown menu** (Red box)
2. **'Edit attributes' menu item** (Red box & Arrow)

**Workflow Action:**
The user clicks the 'Configuration' dropdown and selects 'Edit attributes' to modify the specific properties and metadata of the selected 3D model.

**Module:** Edit attributes > Adapting Rules

**Workflow Steps:**
1. **① "Adapting Rules" dropdown menu:** Click to open the list of available adaptation rules.
2. **② "corner cabinet shelf" option:** Select this specific rule from the dropdown list to define the object's adaptation behavior.
3. **③ "Submit" button:** Click to save the selected attribute changes and apply them to the model.

6. Access the closet customization design tool line, drag out Single Row Base Cabinet - Left Cut Column, click Enterprise Catalog—Parts, and then drag the configured Cut corner laminate into the cut-out cabinet. It will adapt to the trapezoidal dimensions automatically.

**Module:** Main Product Library > Parts

**Targeted Object:** "Cut corner laminate" component (highlighted by red box and arrow).

**Action/Purpose:** Selecting this specific part from the library to insert it into the 3D design workspace, as indicated by the arrow pointing to the placed shelf in the cabinet model.
