"UGC Multi-Language Translation Feature" is primarily used for translating UGC texts in corporate databases, such as product descriptions, parametric models, and other data. These UGC texts are customized by various enterprise users, characterized by their individuality and professionalism, and adhere to respective industry standards. Therefore, automatic machine translation is not suitable for handling such texts. To balance efficiency and accuracy, the translation of UGC texts is carried out by enterprise users themselves.
Translation entries are categorized by resource type and stored in Excel files. Through operations such as exporting, importing, and publishing, translation content is input and updated. To ensure the accuracy of online data, translations imported through the operation will remain in draft mode until they are published in the online environment.
Under this setup, three roles emerge: Multi-Language Configurator, Multi-Language Reviewer, and Multi-Language Viewer User. The Multi-Language Configurator is responsible for entering translation content; the Multi-Language Reviewer ensures that draft translations are accurate and error-free; and the Multi-Language Viewer User merely browses translations published to the online environment.
Currently, the UGC multi-language translation feature is still at the trial stage, and the number of users for each of the roles is limited.
Enterprise users with relevant permissions. If you have any needs, please contact CSC for consultation.
Companies create and assign roles to employee accounts based on the UGC multi-language permissions. Below is a description of the usage process from the perspective of different roles:
1. Entrance: In the merchant backend, click Enterprise Catalog → Product Info → Multilingual Management.
2. The Multilingual Management page contains three tabs, organized from left to right: Translation Management, Operation History, and Release Record. Their functionalities are as follows:
3. The Publish Translation button located at the top right of the page is used to publish imported translations.
4. Currently, the fields to be translated are categorized into 12 resource types. Each resource type includes the following translation fields:
Commodit Name/Model/Product Code/Product Dimensions/Material/
Description/Custom Field Value/Base Material
Brand Name/Series Name
Tag Group Name/Tag Value
Field Name/Text Field Value (Unlimited Type Only)/Link Field Text Value
Template Name/Description
Note: The above resources support both own and licensed models.
5. Below is the recommended workflow for a Multi-Language Configurator using this feature:
Example: Suppose a Multi-Language Configurator needs to translate product data
Step one: In the Merchant Backend, click Enterprise Catalog → Product Info → Multilingual Management, select the type of field to be translated, and then click Export. In the drop-down interface, select the products to be translated and confirm the target translation language. Finally, click Export.
Step two: In Operation History, locate the export record and download the Excel file.
Step three: The Multi-Language Configurator translates and fills the table based on the Excel file format and saves it upon completion.
Step four: Translation Management → Commodity→ Import. The configurator selects the Excel file containing the translatable entries and Import it, completing the import process.
Through these steps, the Multi-Language Configurator completes the entry of product translation entries. The procedure for other resources is similar.
Once the reviewer approves the translations, the configurator can click the Publish Translation button to publish the entries to the online environment.
After the configurator imports translations, the reviewer can switch languages in the Kujiale design tool to review the accuracy of translations for each language. If the results pass review, the configurator publishes the translations for Multi-Language Viewer Users to access. If the results do not pass review, the configurator can update the translations via the import operation until approval is obtained. This separation of entry and review further ensures translation accuracy.
Once translations are published, Multi-Language Viewer Users can switch languages within the Kujiale design tool to view translations in the respective languages.
1. Multi-Language Reviewers and Multi-Language Viewer Users can both view translation content within the Kujiale design tool. The main distinction between them lies in:
If a single account holds both permissions, the tool prioritizes showing draft data when reviewing translations. In this case, Viewer User permissions will be overridden.
Thus, when assigning permissions, the following principles should be followed:
Such practices help minimize permission conflicts and improve efficiency.
2. Currently, the translation languages are supported in 5 languages, including English, Traditional Chinese, Thai, Hindi, and Korean. Additional languages can be added as needed. If a company requests new translation languages, it can contact enterprise operations for supplementary requests.
