The material & component tool allows you to freely create and modify custom structural details in your projects. Through this guide, you will quickly master the push/pull tool and learn important considerations for different modeling surfaces.
All Users
In the design tool, select Advanced Tool, and click to enter Material & Component.
1. Use the Straight Line/Rectangle/Circle/Arc tool to draw shapes on the wall.
2. Select the Push/Pull tool and click the surface of the shape.
3. Choose the stretch direction according to your design, Choose the stretch direction according to your design.
4. After pushing or pulling the first surface to the required height, for the next surface, simply double-click, and it will execute the same extrusion as the previous height.
Q1: Why can't I push or pull some walls?
A1: Only architectural surfaces can be modified in Material & Component. Structural surfaces cannot be modified.
Q2: What are structural surfaces?
A2: The walls, ceilings, and floors that are created automatically when you draw a floor plan. All surfaces that appear when you first enter Material& Component are structural surfaces.
Q3: What are architectural surfaces？
A3: The surfaces that you draw by using the Line (L), Rect (R), and Push/Pull tools.
Q4: What is the difference between architectural surface and structural surface?
A4: The difference between architectural surfaces and structural surfaces is that you cannot push, pull, elevate, move, or delete structural surfaces. Moreover, you cannot set a structural surface as a loft path. However, architectural surfaces support all these operations. Meanwhile, both architectural and structural surfaces support material application and advanced material editing.
Q5: Can I modify the floor plan or create door and window openings in Material & Component?
A5: The above operations are not supported in Material & Component.
