Coohm supports the upload of CAD floor drawings to automatically identify and generate walls, doors and windows. This article will explain in detail the requirements and possible problems of importing CAD floor plan files, and importing files according to the requirements will have a better identification of the drawing effect and improve the design efficiency.
All users
The supported formats are only dwg/ dxf files drawn by autoCAD software. Please do not use other software.
There is no size limit for the currently imported file.
About the solution to reduce the file size:
Drawings drawn in units of [mm], [m], [ft], and [inch] are supported, and the units in CAD are automatically detected when imported, and you can also confirm them twice in the import pop-up window.
Only drawings drawn in model space are supported, and all information drawn in layout space cannot be accurately identified.
About the solution to the inaccurate identification of drawings drawn in the layout space:
Support the identification of walls, doors and windows that meet the drawing requirements, the specific requirements are as follows:
Note: All rooms in the imported CAD file should be closed areas. The above components must be drawn to ensure that the lines are complete and not missing. Local unclosed lines will also affect the recognition effect.
The following common legends for furniture are supported for recognition:
⭐Tips: If you don't need to identify furniture, be sure to delete or hide all furniture information, which can greatly improve the accuracy of wall recognition.
The main purpose of CAD recognition is to quickly restore the walls, doors and windows of the floor plan, and the cleaner the other information, the better the recognition effect.
Please delete or hide the following common distracting information as much as possible:
⭐Tips: If there is a CAD file that looks like there is no problem but cannot be imported successfully, you can try copying it to the newly created empty CAD file and recognize it again after saving!
The following are two typical problem scenarios and solutions.
Problem Scenario:
The wall width is less than 50mm and the size of the floor plan outline frame is less than 2.5mX2.5m. It will be considered non-floor plan drawings that cannot be recognized.
Solution:
The walls need to be drawn in two lines, with a width of 50-400mm, to expand the overall frame size, and the drawings can also be scaled to a recognizable unit size through the "SC" command for identification.
Problem Scenario One:
Network connection error (client or Coohom side).
Try importing the file again.
Problem Scenario Two:
The file is too complex and has too much unnecessary distracting information, as shown in the following figure.
After deleting or hiding other irrelevant information in the drawing except for the walls, doors and windows, re-import the file.
⭐A summary of FAQ can be compared with the following table:
No valid floor plan detected.
1. The size of the floor plan must be greater than 2.5mX2.5m.
2. The drawings are too complicated, please clean unnecessary lines (such as furniture, floor filling, landscape plants, etc.).
1. The wall thickness supported for identification is 50~400mm.
2. Walls need to be drawn with two lines.
1. Please make sure the drawing format is dwg or dxf, and files in other formats are not supported yet.
